A real macaw, found preening atop Paterson City Hall, wasn't coming down on his own, firefighters said.
His owner joined a firefighter from Ladder 2 to "pluck" the blue-and-yella fella named Chewy from his perch.
This way, they figured, Chewy wouldn't squawk.
There was no immediate word on whether he had to be quarantined (they've done that with parrots since before COVID-19).
